Results from the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur & Veteran Championships 2016

Following five busy days of exciting competition at the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur & Veteran Championships, the new Champions of 2016 have now been crowned. The Championships took place at Aintree Equestrian Centre during the 16th – 20th November and the results were as follows:

Leigh Walker from Bakewell, Derbyshire won the National Amateur 0.85m Championship on board her own 7 year-old chestnut mare Zolivia.

The National Amateur 0.95m Championship was taken by Angela Mills from Haswell, County Durham and she headed the class on her own 12 year-old bay gelding Quids In II.

The winner of the National Amateur 1.05m Championship was Alice Ellison from Cambridge on Britney IV, a 10 year-old bay mare owned by Sacha Ellison.

Katie Shaw from Gayton, Staffordshire and Emma Sargeant’s 15 year-old roan gelding Fools Business retained the National Amateur 1.10m Championship title.

The Minor Veteran Riders Championship was won by Campbell Thompson from Tarporley, Cheshire on board Rubiroso JX, a 12 year-old chestnut gelding owned by Keith Shore.

Sophia Cuthbert from Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland became the Major Veteran Riders Champion with her own 13 year-old bay mare Walty L.
