Nominations Go Live For The Horse & Hound Outstanding Mare Award

Wednesday 02 November 2016

As we near the end of another successful season of equestrian sport with added boosts for British bred horses, what better than to celebrate by recognising the top mares that produced the horses giving us all this success?

The nominations for the 2016 Horse & Hound Outstanding Mare Award are now open.  The award is to be presented to the breeder or associate of the mare who, in the opinion of the relevant discipline and the Awards committee, has made the greatest contribution to British bred success.

A nominated mare may have had an outstanding competition career herself or have bred a dynasty of progeny that have gone on to succeed in sport, or both. If you think you know of a mare that has made a valuable contribution to British breeding – we’d like to know about her!

The award will be presented at the annual British Breeders’ Awards Dinner, hosted and organised by the British Horse Foundation in London on 14 January 2017.
