National Club (Pony) Championships
Saturday 13 August 2016

The grass arena played host to the National Club Pony Championships where we saw Aoife Rew take the first Championship of the day in the 70cm class, riding Scotsford Last Chance. Determined to better her second place at last year’s championship, Aoife rode her heart out and Scotsford Last Chance really came through for her. Coming in second was Charlie Parker with Secret Fortunes and in third was Abbie Perham with Balfour Silver Rose. Onto the 80cm championship and Charlie Parker stepped it up a notch taking first place with a different ride, Secret Fortunes owned by Sandra Hall, pushing Emily Scott down to second place riding Winter Flame.
The 90cm Championship was the last class for the National Club Ponies and taking the crown was a very determined Eliza Tribe who rode Triple Action and Emily Scott came in second once again riding Winter Flame.
The British Showjumping Club Leagues provide Club Members with the opportunity to not only focus on heading their regional league table within their chosen height category, but to also qualify for their respective Championship with the goal of claiming a National Championship title at the British Showjumping National Championships.
Club Membership is specifically for members competing between 0.70m – 1.00m with a focus on league points rather than prize money. The four height categories within each region for both horses and ponies are 0.70m, 0.80m, 0.90m and 1.00m and there are a total of eight regions spanning the length and breadth of the country.
