Millie Allen lands Winter Grand Prix win at Aintree Equestrian Centre

Millie Allen from Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland secured a fantastic win in the Winter Grand Prix, sponsored by Equi-Trek, on Sunday 14th October at Aintree Equestrian Centre’s Winter Classic Show.

On board Balou Star, a 13 year-old Balou Du Rouet sired bay stallion owned by Udo Oppermann, Millie took home the lion’s share of the prize pot.

From an initial field of forty-one combinations, just ten made it through to course designer Rafael Suarez’s jump off and it was Millie and Balou Star who set an unbeatable standard. Delivering a double clear in 33.94 seconds, their round proved to be just too fast for the rest.

Millie’s nearest rival was Emily Ward from Cheshire on Millionmind and this combination produced their double clear in 35.91 seconds. Third place was taken by Jonathon Dixon from Carlisle, Cumbria on Fireball after they stopped the clock with a double clear in 36.54 seconds.

1 Millie Allen & Balou Star – 0/0 – 33.94 seconds

2 Emily Ward & Millionmind – 0/0 – 35.91 seconds

3 Jonathon Dixon & Fireball – 0/0 – 36.54 seconds
