Miles O’Donnell finishes 3rd in Young Rider Grand Prix in Austria

Miles O’Donnell, aged 20 from Basingstoke in Hampshire finished 3rd in the Young Rider Grand Prix at the FEI International Youth show in Lamprechtschausen, Austria earlier this evening in the last class of the show. 

Riding Borsato, the 12 year-old bay gelding, owned by David and Claire O’Donnell he was one of only three competitors from a field of thirty-eight to achieve a double clear.  Competiton was tight in the jump off between the top three riders and Miles' time of 49.84 seconds saw him slot into 3rd place just 2.39 seconds behind Dries Goossens (BEL) and his ride Gina who took the win stopping the clock at 47.45 seconds. Second place went to Lisa Maria Rauber (AUT) and Cyrrus 3 in the time of 49.52.

The next highest placed British riders in the competion were Jordan Gann with Billy Jean Birdavenue in 7th place having picked up 4 faults in the first round and Taisie De Gruchy with Winner of Picobello Z who finished in 12th spot also collecting 4 faults in round one. A total of seven British Young Riders contested the class.

2nd  Lisa Maria Rauber (AUT) & Cyrrus 3 - 0/0 - 49.52 seconds

3rd   Miles O’Donnell (GBr) & Borsato - 0/0 - 49.84 seconds
