Michaela Webb triumphs in the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre

Delivering a foot perfect performance, Michaela Webb from Holcot, Northamptonshire secured a first place finish in the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre near Fareham, Hampshire.
With a pool of forty-seven riders all vying for one of the two qualification places on offer for the Championship Final which will be held at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead, West Sussex next summer, an extremely competitive class began. The first round saw sixteen clears produced which left it all to play for in the jump off, where five double clears were posted before the all-important clock decided the winner.
Riding Nicola Savage’s 8 year-old dark bay gelding, Stellar Skylight, Michaela rode a strong clear round to take her place in the jump off. This combination continued their form as they jumped round the newly shortened course leaving all the fences standing to deliver a double clear in just 39.08 seconds.
Jumping in to second place was Laura Mantel from Reading, Berkshire riding Lady Caretino, a 9 year-old bay mare owned by Karin Fitton. This pair produced a double clear in 39.68 seconds.
