Mennell Watson and Harrie Smolders jointly win HOYS Accumulator

This evening’s Accumulator at Horse of the Year Show, Birmingham, saw British rider Mennell Watson with Whisper in the Wind and Harrie Smolders with Cas 2 share the spoils when they both notched up optimum points of 65 in exactly the same time of 49.12 seconds.
A total of ten combinations from the thirty-one starters attained the maximum points achieved meaning that the final placings all came down to the clock. The closest rival Mennell and Harrie had came in the form of Louise Saywell, from Nottingham, with Feigtling when she posted a time of 49.50 seconds to take 3rd place with fellow Brit rider Phillip Miller taking 4th with Sussex Caretino in his time of 50.54 seconds.
