Madison Heath claims the Equithème Leading Pony Showjumper of the Year Qualifier at Bicton Arena

With the only double clear of the class, Madison Heath shot in to first place in the Equithème Leading Pony Showjumper of the Year Qualifier at Bicton Arena in Salterton, Devon on Saturday.

Each of the twenty-two starters were keen to pick up one of the three qualification tickets on offer for the Championship Final held at Horse of the Year Show later this year. The technical course saw poles fall and only two clears were produced in the first round.

Madison, who is based in Nantwich, Cheshire made the journey worthwhile as she jumped in to first place with Sarah Williams’ 8 year-old brown mare, Flavia. This pair were on fine form as they jumped another foot perfect round to cross the finish line in 54.46 seconds with a double clear.

The riders and ponies that finished in first to fourth took home the chance to compete in the Equithème National 148cm Championship at the British Showjumping National Championships.
