Lucy Bainbridge Craig Triumphs in Haygain Pony Discovery Second Round at Church Farm Equestrian

Lucy Bainbridge Craig triumphed in the Haygain Pony Discovery Second at Church Farm Equestrian in Ormskirk, Lancashire and in doing so, paved her way into the Haygain Pony Discovery Championship Final.

With all competitors set on securing one of the ten qualification places available for the Championship Final, three thrilling rounds of competition unfolded and seven combinations went on to deliver a treble clear, shaking up the leader board as they went.

Fifteen year-old Lucy made her trip down from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire worthwhile as she triumphed on board Katie Stovell’s 8 year-old skewbald gelding, Red Apache. Lucy and Red Apache rode with great pace to finish with a treble clear in 39.37 seconds and this time was to eventually prove unbeatable.

Harriet Williams, aged 14, from Colwyn Bay, Clwyd took second place with Kevin Williams’ 9 year-old grey gelding Caherlistrane Glass. This pairing clocked their treble clear up in 41.97 seconds.

Third place was taken by 14 year-old Molly Beadle from Leeds, West Yorkshire and she achieved her podium place on Rebecca Beadle’s 10 year-old bay mare, Tiger Lily XIV. This combination picked up their treble clear in 42.36 seconds.
