Laura Renwick wins Glock’s 5* Grand Prix

Sunday 16 June 2019

It was a great afternoon for GB earlier today when Laura Renwick won the 5* Grand Prix in Treffen with Robert Whitaker close 2nd.

Laura, riding the impressive 11 year-old chestnut gelding Dublin V, posted a high octane jump-off clear to finish almost two seconds ahead of the rest of the field and claim the victory.  The field of forty starters had been whittled down to a six-horse jump off with five of them managing to post a second round clear.   Laura’s time of 44.82 seconds saw her the only rider that managed to break the 46 second barrier with Robert claiming 2nd with his time of 46.14 seconds.

Robert riding Mandy Hall and Clare Whitaker’s 16 year-old bay gelding Catwalk IV looked as impressive as ever with their powerful big jumping round.  Covering the ground, albeit slightly behind Laura’s time, they forward jumping round saw them relegate Christian Ahlmann (GER) and Take a Chance on Me into 3rd place and Martin Fuchs (SUI) and The Sinner in 4th.
