Kellie Taylor claims the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round win at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre

Weston Lawns Equitation Centre finished off a long weekend of showjumping with a hotly contested Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round yesterday and it was Kellie Taylor who gave the winning performance to claim top spot.

Seventy-eight determined starters began the class keen to secure one of the two direct qualifying tickets on offer for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show in October and the production of a treble clear at the forefront of each competitor’s mind. With the technical course asking questions of both horse and rider, just seven combinations went forward to the final jump off and all eyes were on the clock to decide the winner.

Kellie Taylor from Daventry, Northamptonshire jumped in to first place with her own 8 year-old bay mare, Halltown Lucy. This combination took on the newly shortened course with speed and accuracy to leave all the fences standing for a treble clear in 53.30 seconds.

Taking home second place was Miles Pearson who travelled from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire with his 7 year-old chestnut gelding Castiel. This partnership cruised round the course stopping the clock with a treble clear in 56.73 seconds.

With the top two taking the direct qualifying tickets for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final, the combinations in third to fifth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.
