Joseph Clayton delivers a winning performance in the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre

In a fiercely contested Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckingham, it was Joseph Clayton who delivered the winning treble clear performance.

Each of the seventy-one strong field of starters jumped with the aim of claiming one of the two direct qualifying tickets on offer for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show in October. A treble clear performance was at the forefront of each competitors mind as they took on the first two rounds over the technical course which saw poles fall leaving twelve combinations in the running for top spot as they went head to head in the final jump off.

Joseph Clayton from Granby, Nottinghamshire delivered the winning performance on board Michael Whitaker’s 8 year-old dark bay gelding, El Wee Widge. This combination posted three foot perfect rounds to hold a lead of 0.53 seconds and securing a first place finish in 34.62 seconds.

Jumping into second place was Jessica Dimmock from Hannington, Northamptonshire riding Billy in Fashion, a 7 year-old brown mare owned by the Billy Stud. This pair posted a strong challenge leaving all the fences standing for a treble clear in 34.62 seconds.

With the top two taking the direct qualifying tickets for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final, the combinations in third to fifth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.
