Joe Stockdale takes the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Keysoe

The fourth Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round was held on Friday at The College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe in Bedfordshire and it was Joe Stockdale who claimed the top spot with Cacharel IV.

Fifty-six combinations came forward to take on course designer David Conway’s track with the hopes of gaining one of the two direct qualifying tickets on offer for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show in October.

Joe Stockdale from Northampton piloted Joy Cocklin’s 8 year-old German bred mare Cacharel IV to a treble clear and posted a time that none of his rivals could match, crossing the finish line in 41.18 seconds. His nearest opponent was the on-form Laura Mantel who picked up another Horse of the Year Show ticket, this time with Natasha Byfield’s Miss Tangelo, a 7 year-old British bred whom Laura has been riding for just over three weeks. They produced a treble clear but could not quite match Joe’s time, coming home in a time of 41.44 seconds.

The top two combinations secured their place in the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show and the top five took home the chance to compete in the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
