Jake Myers secures The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Qualifier win at the Welsh Home Pony

At the final The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Qualifier of the season held during the Welsh Home Pony at the Wales and West Showground near Newport, Monmouthshire, Jake Myers secured top spot with a fast finish in the jump off.

Taking on the battle for one of the three places on offer for The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October, fifty-one combinations started the class and after two testing rounds, just nine remained in contention to jump against the clock in the final jump-off.

For the second time this season, 13 year-old Jake Myers from South Brent, Devon proved to be on winning form as he guided Joanna Myers’ 24 year-old grey gelding The Agent into top spot. This partnership dominated over the newly shortened course to deliver a treble clear in just 35.26 seconds.

Jumping into second place was Red Morgan, aged 13, from Cheshire, England riding Quest Du Buhot, a 13 year-old chestnut gelding owned by Didy Morgan. This combination produced a strong challenge to leave all the fences standing in 39.27 seconds.

Ten year-old Tabitha Kyle claimed third place on board Playboy Van De Zoetewei, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by Tanya Kyle. This pair crossed the finish line on a treble clear in 41.00 seconds.
