Henry Squibb takes victory in the HOYS 128cms Qualifier at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre

Tuesday 26 July 2016

10 year-old Henry Squibb gave his all to command victory in the HOYS 128cm on Pussy Cat Doll at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre, Scotland, to register his debut at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show at the NEC in October for the Championship Final.

Eighteen very keen diminutive riders tackled the first round, with five gaining initial clear rounds and four posting double clears to reach the final jump-off.

Second-drawn Essex-based Henry, who has quickly progressed from stepping stones and intro classes last year to top level this season, was the first to post a third clear.  Riding the equally eager 22-year-old mare Pussy Cat Doll. His round proved unbeatable, the pair winning by 0.47 seconds.

12 year-old Gabriella D Ambrosio from Cleveland provided the only other treble clear to take second with Farchynys Sienna, an 11-year-old dun mare.

12 year-old Marnie Green from Blackburn and the nine-year-old mare My Little Liesel, winners at Arena UK a week ago, took third.
