Guy Williams & Holly Smith secure the top two GP places in Reims

Sunday 27 May 2018

Great Britain headed the CSI3* Grand Prix in Reims, France earlier today by securing the top two places on offer.

It was Guy with the 13 year-old bay stallion Rouge de Ravel that took the win when he posted a jump-off clear in a time of 42.36 seconds.  With thirteen combinations coming forward for the second round it was certainly a high-octane jump-off with all of them trying to shave some time off the one set by Guy, whilst trying to leave all fences untouched.

Only three combinations managed to finish the competition on a zero penalty score, one of whom was Holly with her own 9 year-old bay gelding Hearts Destiny.  A fraction of a second behind Guy, she had to settle for 2nd place when she broke the finish line in 43.76 seconds.   The only other rider to achieve a double clear was Guillaume Roland Billecart (FRA) with Ustica des Luthiers who finished 3rd.
