Emily Moffitt lands CSI2* Grand Prix win at the Autumn Mediterranean Equestrian Tour

Monday 09 October 2017

Emily Moffitt, who is based between Great Britain and the USA, secured a fantastic win yesterday in the CSI2* Grand Prix held at the end of the first week of the Autumn Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva, Spain.

On board Galip, an 11 year-old bay gelding owned by Poden Farms, Emily took home the lion’s share of the €30,000 prize pot and she did so from top draw in the jump off.

From an initial field of forty-eight pairings, fourteen made it through to the jump off and it was Emily and Galip who set an unbeatable standard. Delivering a double clear in 47.17 seconds, their round proved to be just too fast for the rest.

Emily’s nearest rival was Marie Hecart from France on Vahinee and this combination produced their double clear in 47.86 seconds. Third place was taken by Govett Triggol from South Africa on Wolke 334 after they stopped the clock with a double clear in 49.71 seconds.

Britain’s Dominic Webb also found himself inside the top ten on Whin Whin, a 14 year-old chestnut stallion owned by Isabelle Webb. This pair finished with just 4 faults in the jump off in 49.46 seconds, which was good enough for eighth place overall.
