Eloise Squibb and Jennifer Billington are triumphant in the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers at SouthView Competition & Training Centre

SouthView Competition & Training Centre in Cheshire played host to the second set of 2020 Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers over the weekend during their 148cm Pony Premier Show.

The top three combinations from each day would gain a qualifying ticket to the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Championship which will also be held at SouthView Competition & Training Centre in April.           

Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Saturday 1st February 2020

A strong field of twenty-six starting combinations came forward for the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier on the first day of the 148cm Pony Premier Show. Course Designer David Cole set a challenging track that only five of the initial starters could conquer, with four of those going through to the third round. Eloise Squibb from Billericay, Essex piloted Sarah Squibb’s 14 year-old gelding Rudgeway Maestro into the top spot. The pair kept a clean slate throughout the competition and crossed the finish line in 35.27 seconds to take the win.

1st Eloise Squibb & Rudgeway Maestro – 0/0/0 – 35.27 seconds
2nd Madison Heath & Cisco Bay II - 0/0/0 – 35.73 seconds

3rd Jennifer Billington & Faith X - 0/0/0 – 35.79 seconds

Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Sunday 2nd February 2020

Twenty-one combinations came forward on Sunday to contest the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier. Faults accumulated across the entirety of David Cole’s course but competitors navigated their way to a clear first round with three going on to compete in the jump-off. Jennifer Billington from Wrexham went two places better than her previous day’s performance by pulling a win out of the bag with Linda Billington’s 8 year-old gelding Merlijn VD Bisschop. They took the win with 2.05 seconds in hand after posting a time of 49.80 seconds
