Dodson & Horrell Amateur & Veteran Championships 2020 Rescheduled for May 2021

The postponed Amateur & Veteran Championships, sponsored by Dodson & Horrell, that were due to run between the 9 – 14 November at the Aintree Equestrian Centre have now been rescheduled to take place at the same venue between the 17 – 22 May 2021.

The Championship that run in May 2021 will be eligible to all those who qualified for the postponed 2020 Championships.  Qualifiers for the 2021 Championships will run through next year, with the Finals running as normal in November.

Iain Graham, British Showjumping Chief Executive commented “ We acknowledge how disappointing it would have been for those who were impacted by the introduction of a national lockdown the week before the Championships were due to start and by deferring it to May next year we believe there will be less chance of any future postponement.  We trust the new date is welcomed as a positive one which allows members enough notice to plan their path to the Championships around other commitments they may have.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to both Dodson & Horrell and Aintree Equestrian Centre for their continued commitment to the Championships and our members for their ongoing support during these difficult times.  We can only hope, that with the roll out of a national vaccination programme, we will soon see a level of normality to the way we live our lives return in 2021”.

Carly Sage, Equestrian Manager at Aintree said “We are as dedicated to delivering the Championships as we always have been and we look forward to the welcoming qualified members through the doors next Spring.  The team at Aintree would like to thank all competitors and British Showjumping for their ongoing support during these difficult times and we will be working towards having a schedule available as soon as we can next year”.
