Dodson & Horrell 0.85cm National Amateur Second Round at Inchcoonans Equestrian Centre

Inchcoonans Equestrian Centre in Errol, Perthshire held the last of this year’s Dodson and Horrell 0.85cm National Amateur Second Rounds on Sunday 26th October. Six competitors came forward and each of the participants were hoping to collect one of the direct qualifying places on offer for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which will take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 19th – 23rd November 2014.

From all of the starters, three produced the first round clear required for a place in the jump off. Each of the three combinations were then focused on delivering a double clear and two duly achieved this.

The win in this second round was taken by 15 year-old Sorrel Feather from Edinburgh with her father Stuart’s 7 year-old bay chestnut gelding Hooray Henry III. They secured their victory and place in the Championship Final after producing their double clear in 30.84 seconds.

Catherine Patterson, aged 37, from Dundee took second place on her own 13 year-old skewbald gelding Warchant. This combination secured the second double clear of this class and did so in 35.12 seconds.

Third place was taken by 58 year-old Pamela Seivwright from Dundee and she partnered her own 13 year-old chestnut gelding Ullrich XI. They were unfortunate to pick up 4 faults in the jump off but they completed the course in a good time of 39.28 seconds.
