Derek Ricketts Announced as Senior Championship Team Co-Selector

British Showjumping is pleased to announce that Derek Ricketts has been appointed as Co-Selector alongside World Class Showjumping Performance Manager Di Lampard for the 2015 – 2016 Senior Championship Teams.
A former top level international showjumper, Derek also held the post of GB Team Manager between 2002 and 2010 which will see him bring a considerable depth of knowledge and experience to the role. On announcement of his appointment Derek said “I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity of supporting Di Lampard as co-selector and to also be involved at the top level of our sport once again”.
Commenting on the important team selection decisions that need to be made this year in respect of ensuring GB have best chance of qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games at the European Championships this summer Di stated “This is a crucial year for us and I am really pleased that Derek will be working alongside me in this way. Derek is both knowledgeable and objective and having ridden and worked alongside him for a considerable number of years I have nothing but the utmost respect for his opinions.
The European Championships which take place in Aachen, Germany during August will be the last opportunity for Great Britain to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games where we hope to defend our Team Gold title. For further information on the European Championships please visit www.aachen2015.com
