CSI 4* Salzburg - Brit Round Up

The CSI 4* in Salzlburg saw Robert Smith and the impressive 9 year-old Cimano E, with whom he secured the National Champion title earlier this year, delivered a solid performance to win the CSI 1.45m on Thursday with a clear in 65.01 seconds ahead of Felix Hassman for Germany who’s clear of 65.30 seconds saw them finish in 2nd place.  He also took 2nd place with his own and Karina Reil’s 8 year-old Ilton in the CSI 4* Amadeu Challenge with a clear in 61.28 seconds; this time the placings were reversed with Felix Hassmann taking pole position with a clear in 59.67 seconds.

Friday saw Robert and Cimano back in the line up when they took 2nd place in the 1.50m CSI 4* Grand Prix qualifier.  A clear in a time of 63.87 seconds saw them sit just behind Czech rider Ales Opatrny.

Abbe Burchmore-Eames ensured a Union Flag in the line up of the 1.45m European Youngster Opening class for riders under 25 years class on Thursday with her 13 year old bay gelding Wilandre E. Their clear in a time of 60.84 seconds was just a fraction of a second behind Philip Houston for Germany and Andrzej for Poland who took 1st and 2nd place respectively to them finish in 3rd position.
