Coaches selected for National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence 2018/19

British Showjumping is delighted to announce that the National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence for 2018/19 will begin in October with the largest cohort of coaches to date selected from British Showjumping, British Dressage, British Eventing, Endurance GB, Pony Club and the British Horse Society.

The National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence (NDPCE) is aimed at those working with adults and young people who participate in equestrian sport for competitive recreation purposes and aims to recognise the importance of high performing coaches working with grass roots riders.

All coaches selected for the programme hold their Equestrian Level 3 coaching certificate, endorsed by UKCC or equivalent, and have been selected for their passion in sustaining and growing participation within equestrian sport as well as their attitude to learning and the importance of continuous professional and personal development. They will embark on the 12 month cross-discipline programme which is now in its third year of running and is supported by the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) and Sport England.

Nick Fellows, Chief Executive of the BEF says: “I am delighted we are able to support these coaches on their journey to becoming truly high performers in coaching grassroots participation.  We know how important coaches are to participants’ development but most importantly enjoyment in our sport and we are proud to be able to support this excellent programme.”
