Chloe Aston Wins Austrian FEI CSI 2* International Grand Prix

Chloe Aston from Tring, Hertfordshire delivered a brilliant win for Great Britain in the CSI 2* Grand Prix at the weekend in Wiener Neustadt, Austria fighting off strong competition in a class that saw in excess of forty competitors come forward.

Out of the initial starting field, eleven put in a first round clear to go through to the jump off with only three riders managing to produce another clear in the jump off.

Chloe with her flamboyant and big jumping 8 year-old grey gelding Merqusio managed to put in the fastest clear stopping the clock in 49.95 seconds to secure the class as their own relegating Oliver Lemmer, from Germany, with Luigi 206 into second with their clear in a time of 50.77 seconds. Czech rider Kamil Papousek with Bel Canto Hradiste finished in third with their clear, the slowest of the three, in a time of  50.82 seconds.

Great Britain’s Laura Robinson from Northallerton, North Yorkshire with her father Neal’s 11 year-old brown gelding Jonti just missed out on a top three finish after picking up four faults in the jump off to take fourth place.
