Chepstow International 23 – 26 August

Wednesday 31 July 2019

Entries are now open for the four-day Chepstow International Show run by the Wales & West Team at the David Broome Event Centre.  Offering classes for both Juniors and Seniors, classes start at 1.05m for seniors through to 1.45m for the more established rider.  With classes starting just over a metre it is a show with something for everyone who enjoys being away at a multi-day show.

Seniors
The Senior 1* tours are split across Bronze, Silver and Gold with the Bronze Tour starting with classes at 1.05m.  This makes it a great tour for riders who are perhaps wanting to start competing internationally for the first time as well as those who are already competing at this level under FEI rules. James Broome, Show Director, said “We would really welcome competitors who haven’t competed at an international show before and would like to give it a go.  As a venue it would suit them well as we are all on hand to help and give guidance wherever needed and creating opportunities for members wishing to progress is a very strong ethos of ours”.

The 1* Silver Tour commences at 1.15m with the 1* Gold Tour commencing at 1.25m with classes for all three tours taking place across each of the days culminating with their own respective Grand Prix competitions on the final day.

The 2* tours are split across Small, Medium and Large with the Small Tour commencing at 1.30m, the Medium at 1.35m and the Big Tour at 1.40m.  Again all three tours culminate with a Grand Prix on the Sunday, with the Gold Tour 1.45 FEI Ranking Points Grand Prix carrying a £22,500 prize fund???

International Pony Tours & 1* Young Horse Classes
A Silver and Gold 148cm Tour takes place across each day of the show also with the Silver Tour running from 1.10m and the Gold Tour from 1.20m.

The 1* Young Horse classes span 5 year-old and 6 year-old tours with supplementary classes in the 3rd arena including Senior British Novice, Nupafeed Senior Discovery, Connolly’s Red Mills Senior Newcomers and Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunters which also incorporate their respective height category Opens.

All classes will be held on all-weather surfaces and there will be social functions each night in the club house.
