Changes to the Qualification Process for the 2017 Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships

The following rule changes will now apply to each of the four height categories in respect of the qualification process for the 2017 Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships.
The changes come in to force from the 1st September and were requested by the British Showjumping National Sport Committee.
Rule 318: 85cms National Amateur Championship Qualifier – First Round
Numbers to qualify:
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump off, in at least five 85cms National Amateur First Round competitions held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the 85cms Championship Final at the National Amateur Championships.
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, following by a clear round in the jump off, in at least one 85cms National Amateur First Round competition held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the National Amateur 85cms second round competition
- The winner of a particular 85cms National Amateur First Round competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition.
Rule 320: 95cms National Amateur Championship Qualifier – First Round
Numbers to qualify:
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump off, in at least five 95cms National Amateur First Round competitions held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the 95cms Championship Final at the National Amateur Championships.
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, following by a clear round in the jump off, in at least one 95cms National Amateur First Round competition held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the National Amateur 95cms second round competition
- The winner of a particular 95cms National Amateur First Round competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition.
Rule 322: 1.05m National Amateur Championship Qualifier – First Round
Numbers to qualify:
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump off, in at least five 1.05m National Amateur First Round competitions held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the 1.05m Championship Final at the National Amateur Championships.
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, following by a clear round in the jump off, in at least one 1.05m National Amateur First Round competition held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the National Amateur 1.05m second round competition
- The winner of a particular 1.05m National Amateur First Round competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition.
Rule 324: 1.10m National Amateur Championship Qualifier – First Round
Numbers to qualify:
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump off, in at least five 1.10m National Amateur First Round competitions held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the 1.10m Championship Final at the National Amateur Championships.
- Horses which jump clear in the first round, following by a clear round in the jump off, in at least one 1.10m National Amateur First Round competition held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in the National Amateur 1.10m second round competition
- The winner of a particular 1.10m National Amateur First Round competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition.
The first round qualification period for the four 2017 National Amateur Championships commences on the 1st September 2016 and runs through to the 31st August 2017.
