British Showjumping Vacancy: Selector

British Showjumping, the National Governing Body for Showjumping in Britain, is currently seeking to appoint a Selector to work as part of the Selection Panel. 

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful applicant will work in close collaboration with the Performance Manager and an Independent Chair of Selectors to select the Senior Nations Cup Teams and the Team to compete at the 2017 FEI European Showjumping Championships taking place in Goteborg, Sweden from the 23 – 27 August 2017. 

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of International competitions including World and Regional Championships
  • Experience of working within the performance environment
  • Technical knowledge for producing horses and riders to International level.
  • Knowledge of selection procedures and policy in order to adhere to a transparent, valid and consistent selection policy
  • Knowledge of the qualification system for the 2020 Olympic Games
  • Free from vested interests/conflicts of interest

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a team, contribute to the wider goals and take direction
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a professional approach in high pressure environments
  • Ability to manage challenging situations in a confidential, appropriate and professional manner
  • Availability to travel to national and international shows and attend selection meeting when required
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines

The role is not remunerated but travel and accommodation expenses will be paid in accordance with the Association’s expenses policy.
