British Showjumping message in respect of the London Spring International

Friday 27 January 2017

It is with regret that British Showjumping are announcing that the London Spring International Show which was due to be held at the ExCel Arena, London in April this year has been cancelled.

Daniel Watson, Show Organiser of the event, stated this morning “Unfortunately due to financial restraints the ExCel Executive Board made the decision yesterday [26 January 2017] to at least postpone the show until 2018 in order to allow more time to deal with the financial aspects of the concept”.  He also added “Unfortunately the risk is too high to continue. I thank all of you [British Dressage & British Showjumping] for your valued time and effort that you have put into the show.”

Iain Graham, Chief Executive for British Showjumping commented “We are extremely disappointed to have received Daniel’s notification this morning that the event will not be going ahead.  Despite only having received the news this morning, we have already started discussions as to the best way forward.  We will update members as soon as feasibly possible in respect of the proposed championships which had been incorporated into the show schedule.”

British Showjumping would like to express their thanks to Daniel Watson, the ExCel Executive Board and their support teams for the work they have done to date.
