Sunday 14 August 2016

Returning for the second year was the Anglo European Studbook National Four year old Championship. A class judged on presentation and technique, as well as accuracy, there are two rounds to the class each giving the combination a chance to earn a maximum of 20 points.
Picking up 19.5 points in round one was Danielle Ryder riding Escape Z; the pair were scored 9.5 for their presentation and 10 for their jumping technique. Going in to round two and the pair jumped clear inside the time demonstrating a nice consistent rhythm throughout the course. They were originally scored 9.5 again for their presentation and 10 for their technique, however unfortunately the pair lost half a mark when the excited four year old had a celebratory buck, meaning they finished on a total of 38.5. In second place was Donatas Janciauskas riding Cool Quartz who finished on a score of 31 points.
Speaking to Danielle after her class, she said: “He is out of a Heartbreaker mare and he has fantastic paces with great adjustability in the canter. He is extremely consistent and has amazing scope; I’m really excited about him.”
