Abbe Burchmore-Eames dominates the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round at Brook Farm Equestrian Club

This weekend’s Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round at Brook Farm Equestrian Club in Romford, Essex marks the half way point through the series and it was Abbe Burchmore-Eames who dominated the class to finish in top spot.

With only two qualification spots on offer for the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Championship Final, which will be held during this October’s Horse of the Year Show, each combinations had their sights set on crossing the finish line with a treble clear.

The starting field of sixty-seven combinations was whittled down during the first two rounds until eleven talented combinations were left to go head to head against the clock in the final jump off.

Abbe Burchmore-Eames from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire gave three consistently strong performances on board her own 9 year-old bay mare, Javko Du Flory to secure the win. With an early draw, this partnership set an unbeatable pace as they crossed the finish line with a treble clear in 37.30 seconds.

The riders and horses that finished in third to sixth took home the chance to compete in the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
