Royal Highland Show 2026 Young Horse Classes - Qualification Process

RHS BALCORMO STUD POTENTIAL SPORT HORSES UNDER SADDLE
For 2026 horses will be required to qualify for these classes.
Qualifiers will be held at the following venues :
- Muirmill: 18-19th April
- Champfleurie: 25th-26th April
- Bogenraith: 2nd - 3rd May
- Highfield at Howe: 16th-17th May
Qualification Rules:
Highest placed 4 year olds within a British Novice and 5 year olds within Discovery.
Ticket entries are eligible.
To qualify horses must have no more than 8 jumping faults.
Riders must declare their intention to qualify at time of entry.
There will be a maximum of 12 qualifying places for each section - three per venue.
When less than three horses qualify at any show, the additional qualifying places will be allocated at subsequent venues.
All entries must be registered with a recognised Sports Horse Society.
Rules for RHS Final:
Section 4A - LOCHLEVEN EQUINE PRACTICE 4 year olds – Max height 1m. Table A
Section 4B - MELLOW HOMES 5 year olds – Max height 1.10m. Table A
Overall style mark out of 20.
Simple snaffle bridles only, running martingales permitted.
Top 6 in each section will go forward for final Judging based on style and performance.
Entries will be limited to 2 horses per owner in each section and 1 horse per rider in each section.
