PONIES
The John Whitaker International Pony Team took second place this weekend in the Nations Cup in Freudenberg, Germany.
First to go was sixteen year-old Yasmin Pinchen from Crawley, West Sussex with her mother Nancy’s eight year old chestnut mare Edsilia, producing a foot perfect double clear. Second was the experienced Pippa Allen, 15, from Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland riding Duncan Inglis’s nine year old grey gelding Maradonna, who finished with four faults in the first round and clear in the second. Third to go was fourteen year-old Timothy Wilks from Henley-On-Thames, Oxon with his mother Caroline’s eleven year old coloured gelding The Colour Of Money, jumping a clear in the first round and lowering a single pole for four faults in the second. Anchor woman was Jessica Mendoza, 13, from Chippenham, Wilts with her mother Sarah’s eleven year old chestnut mare Tixylix, who had a clear to start but retired in the second round.

Jessica then went on to win the Grand Prix with Tixylix, jumping one of only three clears to go through to the second round. Laura Robinson was third on her father Geoffrey’s ten year old grey gelding Paddy Power.

CHILDREN
Great Britain’s Childrens Squad also clocked up some impressive results in Freudenberg; twelve year-old Anna Wilks from Henley-On-Thames, Oxon riding Duncan Inglis’ twelve year old grey mare Mirage was first in the jump off class on Sunday and secured sixth in a Two Phase on Saturday. Elodie Hales, 13, from Wellingborough, Northants took fifth spot in the Two Phase with her father Paul’s seven year old bay gelding Broadvale Dinky and fourteen year-old Laura Robinson from Northallerton, North Yorkshire with her father Geoffrey’s seven year old bay mare Chasmira finished third in a speed competition on Friday.
