.
Top class showjumping comes back to London this summer when the Longines Global Champions Tour takes place 6-9th June at Stratford's International Quarter, adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth II Oympic Park.
The event will be the first competition to take place here since the Games in 2012 and will be the start of a run of sporting and cultural events planned in and around the park. Show organisers are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to play their part in staging this unique equestrian event in the heart of the city and to help harness the spirit of 2012 for equestrian sport.
A variety of roles are on offer with volunteers required to assist at ticket control and information points, in the riders’ restaurant, at cross points and much more. In return the Global Champions Tour are offering uniform, food and a contribution towards travel expenses as well as the opportunity to share in the excitement of this premier showjumping event.
The world’s top 40 riders, including Team GB Gold medallists Nick Skelton, Scott Brash and Ben Maher, will all be taking part in this spectacular event. Bruce Springsteen’s daughter Jessica, Charlotte Casiraghi and current Global Champions Tour champion Edwina Tops Alexander will be among those competing for a staggering £640,000 prize fund.
Alongside the five star competition the BEF’s grass roots legacy campaign, Hoof, will also be in action at the event – complete with mechanical horse - encouraging people to have a go and take up horse riding.
