TRETORN JUNIORS & YOUNG RIDERS SELECTED FOR THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Tretorn Junior and Young Rider Teams who will represent Great Britain in the 2009 European Show Jumping Championships to be held in Hoofddorp, Netherlands from the 1st – 5th July 2009 have been selected.
JUNIORS
Sixteen year old Alison Barton, a member of the 2009 Tretorn Junior International Squad, from Bradford, West Yorkshire will partner Mr Simon Paul’s fourteen year old bay gelding Saffier van de Brandkreek.
Seventeen year old Jessie Drea, a member of the 2009 Tretorn Junior International Squad, from Horsham, West Sussex riding Mr Shane Breen’s nine year old chestnut gelding Milord d’Elle.
Fourteen year old Graham Gillespie, a member of the 2009 Tretorn Junior International Squad from Alexandria, Dunbartonshire will ride his mother Beth’s eight year old bay stallion USA Today.
Sixteen year old Carian Scudamore, a member of the 2009 Tretorn Junior International Squad, from Cardigan, Dyfed will ride Mrs Hancock’s nine year old bay mare Angel III.
Sixteen year old George Whitaker, a member of the 2009 Tretorn Junior International Squad, based with Michael Whitaker in Whatton, Nottinghamshire will ride his Uncle Michael’s eleven year old chestnut gelding Carnaval Path
YOUNG RIDERS
Nineteen year old Joe Clayton, a member of the 2009 Tretorn Young Rider International Squad also based with Michael Whitaker in Whatton, Nottinghamshire will ride his own ten year old bay gelding Saveur.
Twenty year old Jemma Kirk, a member of the 2009 Tretorn Young Rider International Squad from Bo’ness, West Lothian will ride her father Roberts’s thirteen year old bay gelding Wexford.
Twenty one year old Tim Page a member of the 2009 Tretorn Young Rider International Squad from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, will partner Mr Sturman’s eleven year old chestnut gelding Quentin Tarantino.
Eighteen year old Matthew Sampson a member of the 2009 Tretorn Young Rider Squad from Sheffield, South Yorkshire will ride Mr Duncan Inglis’ eleven year old bay gelding Chianti Classico.
Nineteen year old William Whitaker a member of the 2009 Tretorn Young Rider International Squad also based with Michael Whitaker in Whatton, Nottinghamshire will ride his Uncle Michaels Clark 12.
Joe Clayton, Jessie Drea, Tim Page, Matthew Sampson and William Whitaker are members of the World Class Development Squad which is lottery funded through UK Sport and provides support across a wide range of support services as well as direct funding support.
