TRETORN INTERNATIONAL YOUNG RIDER TEAM TAKE FIFTH SPOT IN HAGEN

The Tretorn Young Rider team finished fifth in the Nations Cup in Hagen, Germany on Saturday.

The team comprised of Jodie Ward with her mother Pennie’s grey gelding Caloux Z, who finished with a score of twelve penalties in the first round and sixteen in the second. Second to go was Tom Davison with his father Richard’s grey gelding Egano Star, scoring twelve in the first round and four faults in the second.  Third to go was Sam Hutton with Miss Al-Homaizi and Tony Newbery’s chestnut mare Olympia  III, who lowered four fences in the first round for a total of sixteen and two in the second to finish with eight.  Anchor woman Jemma Kirk  with her father Robert’s grey gelding Wexford had eight faults in the first and then went onto jump a foot perfect clear in the second.

In the Young Rider Grand Prix on Sunday Joe Clayton took fourth place with his own bay gelding Saveur after clocking up a single time fault in the first round.
