Thrilling Competition at Field House for Fifth Events Through a Lens Talent Seeker Qualifier

Sunday brought an electric atmosphere to Field House as the fifth Events Through a Lens Talent Seeker Qualifier unfolded, with riders vying for a coveted spot in the prestigious Horse of the Year Show final this October.
A total of 61 horse and rider combinations stepped up to tackle Lisa Kelly’s expertly designed course. With precision and determination on display, 23 combinations delivered faultless rounds within the time allowed, earning their place in the jump-off.
The jump-off did not disappoint, delivering a nail-biting showcase of speed and skill. Only the top five managed to produce double clears, highlighting the calibre of competition on the day.
It was Danielle Ryder who emerged victorious, blazing around the course on Andrew Bradshaw’s Careful Touched Numo Z to take top honours with an unbeatable time of 47.67 seconds.
"There weren't as many clears as I thought there would be when I walked the course but there was enough in the end, and there were still some fast riders in the jump-off. I said I would ride as fast as my horse could go and it all worked out on the day. She's just such a cool mare and really deserves it. She's had a good run of success recently - we won the Grand Prix at South View and were seconds in the Grand Prix at Wales and West.
"We qualified for the Foxhunter Final last year so I'm looking forward to going back and allowing her to be competitive now she has been in the atmosphere once already. Her breeder, Sjaak Van Nuenen, dreamed of seeing her go to HOYS. He sadly passed away before she got there but it is nice to know the family will see her success and I know he would be so proud. Andrew Bradshaw owns her now and allowed me to keep the ride which I am very grateful for, she's such a talented mare."
Hot on her heels was Ryan O’Sullivan aboard Ross Irving’s ISA V, who delivered a strong performance to finish second in 49.65. Joe Trunkfield claimed third riding Claud Van Dam, owned by Harry Whall, stopping the clock at 51.67, while Lee Williams took fourth place with Mooiman II, owned by Carrera Stud.
The competition was a true celebration of rising talent and promises a thrilling build-up to HOYS 2025.
