TEAM ANIMO HEAD OUT TO THE PONY EUROPEAN CHAMIONSHIPS

Early next week the British Pony Team will head out to Fontainebleau to compete at the FEI Pony European Championships in the hope of securing medals for Great Britain.

The FEI Pony European Championships take place between the 17th – 22nd July at the Hippodrome du Grand Parquet, Fontainebleau.  Great Britain have won a total of 62 medals at these Championships during the past three decades and last year saw Great Britain secure both Team Gold in addition to Individual Gold and Bronze medals to the already extensive tally.

Clare Whitaker, Chairman of the International Committee for British Showjumping commented “This year has been a particularly difficult one for the selectors due to the tremendous depth of talent we have within the pony ranks currently.  However, following extensive discussions with all parties directly involved within the selection process we feel confident we have selected the strongest team we can field for Great Britain. Selections are always difficult and none more so than for the Championship Teams and it can only be positive for the sport going forward that we find ourselves with such an extent of combinations to choose from”.

The team will consist of:
Beth Adams, aged 16 from Halesowen, West Midlands with her mother’s (Julie) 13year old 14.2hh chestnut mare Some Like It Hot.

Millie Allen, aged 14 from Stockton-On-Tee’s, Cleveland with her father’s (Peter) 9 year-old bay mare Song Girl.

Alex Chitty, aged 15 from Gravesend, Kent with his mother’s (Amy) 10 year-old 14.2hh grey mare Amilie JR Z.

Amy Inglis, aged 15 from Haywards Heath, West Sussex with Mandy Hall’s and Claire Inglis’ 11 year-old bay gelding Nils D Hurl Vent

Jessica Mendoza aged 16 from Chippenham, Wiltshire with her mother’s (Sarah) 14 year-old chestnut mare Tixylix.

The Team competition takes place on 20th July at 13:00hrs CEST and the Individual Final on the 22nd July at 13:30hrs CEST.  For further information and results please visit:  www.etrier-arbonne.com
