Stephanie Gunn crowned the 2024 Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Champion

The second day of the British Showjumping National Championships saw the crowning of our 2024 Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Champion. With 58 combinations competing in the Final, the competition was tight as riders vied for the coveted title.
To reach this stage, riders have competed in two rounds across the country, with the top performers from the Second Round earning their place in this prestigious Final. The course, designed by Krissy Spiller, featured a 1.10m first round that tested the riders' skills. Many competitors found that a single error resulting in 4 faults stood between them and a place in the jump-off. Nevertheless, 21 determined riders advanced to the final round.
In a closely contested battle, the riders pushed hard, executing tight turns and giving their all to cross the finish line in the fastest time. Ultimately, it was Stephanie Gunn who emerged victorious, claiming the 2024 Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship. Riding her own six-year-old mare, Quickstep I, Stephanie delivered the fastest time of the day, finishing in an impressive 32.54 seconds.
Reflecting on her win, Stephanie commented, “I was really pleased with my round today. We gave it everything, and she really tried her best throughout.” This victory holds special significance for Stephanie, as Quickstep, affectionately known as ‘Jenny’ at home, is a homebred mare out of her stallion who sadly passed away a few years ago. “I’ve broken and produced her myself… she’s quite a special mare,” she added.
Second place went to Sinead Cox and Rose VD Donkhoeve, who finished just 0.23 seconds behind the winning time. Zoe Smith and I Lexus Z claimed third place.
