Shaunie Greig leads the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Arena UK

The next Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round took place on Sunday at Arena UK in Grantham, Lincolnshire and it was Shaunie Greig who put in the winning performance against eighty-two keen competitors.
Each and every rider was aiming to secure one of the two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and after two nail biting rounds it came down to just eight combinations in the final jump off.
Fifteen year-old Shaunie from Fife put in a stylish performance on board Alison Mcdonald’s 8 year-old black mare, Teagan Arla Rose, to finish in first place. This partnership were able to show their precision and speed as they claimed a spot in the final jump off. Keeping their focus, they crossed the finish well ahead of the competition in 32.34 seconds.
The riders and ponies that finished in third to fifth took home the chance to compete in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.

The Horse of the Year Show 2018 will take place from the 3rd – 7th October at Birmingham’s NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships 2018 will take place during the 7th – 12th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
