REBECCA STONES IS VOTED MAY OWNER OF THE MONTH

Rebecca Stones has been voted BSJA Owner of the Month for May. The new award, aimed at giving recognition to the owners of some of Britain’s top show jumping horses, runs alongside the already established Show Jumper of the Month Award.

Rebecca is the proud owner of the twelve-year-old bay stallion, Peppermill. The Dutch bred stallion by Burggraaf, was victorious in the 285,000€ Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Valencia, Spain and then followed this with a double clear round in the Meydan FEI Nations Cup in Rome.

Derek Ricketts, Performance Manager commented:

“The Owner of the Month Award will hopefully bring our owners to the forefront of our sport and give them some recognition for the investment that they make not only into their riders, but also to the British Team and our sport as a whole. We have a number of initiatives on the drawing board at the moment that hopefully will greatly benefit our existing owners and will also incentivise and help to identify and introduce new owners to our sport.”

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that the May Owner of the Month Award goes to Rebecca Stones. Rebecca’s horse Peppermill was victorious with John Whitaker, in the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Valencia winning 95,000€. He then jumped two foot perfect clears in the Meydan FEI Nations Cup in Rome. Accomplishing one of these results is a fantastic achievement, but laying claim to both in a matter of a few weeks, is amazing. My congratulations go to Rebecca and her team on their recent success.”
