Rebecca Marsh and Stevie G Reign Supreme Again in Thrilling HOYS Wild Card Qualifier

The atmosphere reached a fever pitch at the British Showjumping National Championships as the HOYS International Wild Card Qualifier incorporating The British Showjumping Business Partnership International Stairway Final delivered one of the most electrifying classes of the week.

All eyes were on the 28 rider combinations who came forward to contest this coveted class, but it was Rebecca Marsh and Stevie G who stole the show – for the second year in a row. In a jump-off that tested even the most seasoned riders, only six made it through, and Rebecca produced the only double clear, stopping the clock in 47.13 seconds to retain her National Champion title and reclaim her Horse of the Year Show ticket.

“It’s great qualifying for HOYS – it’s one of those shows you always want to go to as a child,” said a delighted Rebecca.

“So to do it last year and have that experience in there, to then do it back-to-back this year – you know it means a lot, and I can’t wait to go back.”

In a class packed with top talent and high stakes, Anna Power claimed second place with a strong performance on MCQUEEN IV, while Miles O'Donnell secured third riding JACKPOT DS, rounding off an exceptional podium line-up.

As well as Rebecca's automatic qualification, the remaining HOYS Wild Card tickets were awarded to:

  • Mark Edwards – Stairway League Winner
  • Guy Williams – HOYS Wildcard League
  • Emma Crawford – 25 and Under HOYS Wildcard League Winner

The final not only showcased incredible talent but also demonstrated the depth of competition within British showjumping. From speed and scope to skill and composure, this class truly had it all.

A heartfelt thank you to the sponsors who supported this prestigious class: ClipMyHorse.TV, Charles Owen, Ariat, Zebra Products, HorseQuest and Equine Bio Genie – your continued backing is instrumental in providing these incredible opportunities for our riders.

Congratulations once again to Rebecca Marsh and all the wild card winners – we can't wait to see you at HOYS!

NB: Results pending official grading.
