Oreo Patches leaves everyone for dust in the Pony Restricted Rider 1.00m Championship
Tuesday 03 August 2021
We saw the first title of the British Showjumping National Championships awarded today at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire when the Pony Restricted Rider 1.00m Final was hotly contested and it was Lois Logan, aged 15 from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, that claimed the honours with her mother’s 10 year-old coloured pony Oreo Patches.
The jump-off was highly competitive across the eight twenty-one that came forward and it was Lois that claimed the lead by two seconds to take the honours. Their performance saw Amy Cass with Miss Texas relegated to 2nd and Bella Crowley with Access Bill finish in 3rd.
When asked about her win Lois commented “I couldn’t be happier, he was so quick. There had already been a couple clear before me, so I thought I might as well just go for it! He is such a good pony and always tries his hardest”.
The win today follows them having returned from a show at the weekend in Wales where they came 9th in the Derby and 5th in the Foxhunter. Lois looks forward to competing in two further classes over the next couple of days at the British Showjumping National Championships.
Sporting success certainly runs in the family with Lois’s mother being former rhythm gymnast and current sports presenter Gabby Logan who is covering much of the Tokyo Games at the moment. And as if that isn’t enough to give her a sporting incentive her father is former Scottish rugby union player Kenny Logan.
Congratulations to Lois for not only winning her respective Final but also getting the Championships off to a great start. https://bit.ly/3fs0rAy
