MATTHEW WINS THE MASTERS

Nineteen year old Matthew Sampson from Sheffield, South Yorkshire took the Tri-Zone Newcomers Masters at the Easibed BSJA Scope Festival of Show Jumping held at Stafford County Showground today. He has secured his qualifying place at The Horse of the Year Show in October.
 
Matthew secured first place with his own  seven year old bay gelding, V.Anubertha 59. The pair jumped a double clear in a jump off time of 36.62 seconds, which put him into a clear lead. Second place went to Jackson Reed-Stephenson from Dunsforth, North Yorkshire riding Michael Dawson’s six year old chestnut gelding, Jahil. Jackson jumped a double clear in 38.57 seconds. Keith Shore from Northwich, Chesire took third place with Simon Haughton’s seven year old bay gelding, Voyager III. They jumped a double clear in a jump off time of 38.65 seconds.
 
The first four have qualified for The Horse of the Year Show.
