Longines EEF Series Dates Announced for 2022

The Longines EEF Series is back and the dates for 2022 have been announced. The series is designed to support European nations in developing their horses and riders in high-level competition to help bridge the gap to the Division 1 series. The series encourages the participation of younger developing talents by requiring at least one member of the team to be under 25 years of age.

Nations are split into four regions; North, South, West and Central. Great Britain will form part of the West region, along with Andorra, Belgium, Spain, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Monaco and Portugal.

Two regional qualifiers will take place for each regional group with the top five teams from each regional qualifier progressing to their respective semi-final. For Great Britain, this will be the semi-final in Deauville (FRA) if qualification is gained, along with the top five teams from Region North. The top ten teams (five from each semi-final) will go head to head in the Final at Warsaw (POL) in September.

The winner, or highest placed non-Division 1 nation, of the EEF Series final at Warsaw will be promoted to the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Division 1 for the 2023 season.

Theo Ploegmakers, EEF President said "I am really excited to announce the next edition of this important series. Following the success of last year, we look forward to welcoming our European nations for another season of thrilling competition. This year has the addition of the World Championships in August, and we know the Longines EEF Series will be important preparation and team selection tool, adding even more anticipation to the Series.”

The calendar dates for Great Britain are as follows:

EEF West Regional Qualifier in Lisbon (POR) - 26-29 May

EEF West Regional Qualifier in Madrid (ESP) - 02-05 June

(Top 5 teams will qualify for the Semi Final)
