Laura Renwick dominates the Royal Norfolk Show leg of the International Stairway

Against nineteen determined starters, Laura Renwick dominated the International Stairway at the Royal Norfolk Show in Norwich, Norfolk on Thursday as she claimed first and second place with her rides.
Taking on the five horse jump off, Laura Renwick from Maldon, Essex delivered a confident double clear on board Nancy Pinchen’s 9 year-old grey gelding Dominant H. This pair used their experience to pick up the pace over the newly shortened jump-off course, crossing the finish line on a foot perfect double clear in 57.78 seconds.
Laura continued to dominate the class as she went on to claim her second double clear, this time riding her own 9 year-old bay mare, MHS Washington. This partnership stopped the clock in 58.24 seconds to take second place.
Also delivering a double clear, Helen Tredwell jumped in to third place with Colin Garratt’s 11 year-old bay gelding, Sebastian VII. This combination put forward a strong challenge crossing the finish line in 60.95 seconds.
The International Stairway takes place across a number of county shows where winning combinations accrue League Points that count towards the Final which takes place at the British Showjumping National Championships in August at Stoneleigh Park. The series culminates with a high profile championships where three Horse of the Year Show International Wild Cards are allocated as well as it being where the sports National Champion is crowned.
