KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Finals Continue at Waterford Equestrian

During a busy weekend of qualifying competitions, Waterford Equestrian in County Durham played host to one of the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Finals 2013. The class was held on Sunday 12th May 2013 and a total of 43 eligible combinations came forward to compete.
From those combinations who started in the regional final, 14 went on to achieve the treble clear required to qualify for the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival (25th – 31st August 2013).
The winner’s spot was taken by the first combination to compete in the final jump off and it was 38 year-old Kerrie McStea from Gateshead, Tyne & Wear on board her own 10 year-old bay mare, Fernhill Dina C, who won. The combination achieved their treble clear in fast time of 37.52 seconds to give them over 2 seconds in hand over the second placed combination.
Second place was filled by 21 year-old Chrissie Cameron from Carlisle, Cumbria and she rode her own Prima Donna Girl, a 7 year-old chestnut mare. This combination got their third clear in a time of 39.69 seconds.
Third place was taken by 37 year-old Joanne Burns from Barrow-upon-Humber, South Humberside and she rode an immaculate treble clear on Miss Sixpence, a 7 year-old bay mare owned by Yvonne Willis. Their third clear was achieved in 40.80 seconds.
A further 11 combinations also achieved a treble clear and a total of 14 combinations will now go forward to the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final.
