KBIS Insurance British Novice Second Round sees Silver Rhapsody II fly home into first position.
Monday 20 June 2011

Norfolk Showjumping Club held a two day show over the weekend at Cherry Bee Farm, Hainford which included a KBIS Insurance British Novice second Round.
With seventeen starters there was only one Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival Qualification ticket up for grabs so the competition was fierce. The weather added to the challenge with relentless rain throughout the warm up class but the skies cleared and twelve combinations made it through to the second round.
Seven of the twelve combinations cleared Sue Peasley’s 1.15m track to contest the jump off and it was Cambridgeshire based Jo Gibbons that came out on top. Drawn second to go in the final jump off Jo knew that a fast clear was needed to hold off the rest of the competitors. Riding her own nine year black mare Silver Rhapsody II Jo put in a superb quick round jumping clear in 38.83 seconds which left the rest of the field chasing her.
Following Jo in to the ring was Suffolk based Colin Keeling riding Leeann Rea’s seven year old bay mare Ruby Two II. Colin tried to match Jo’s turns but had an unfortunate four faults at the double of wishing wells which proved to the bogey fence for the jump off.
