It’s a win for Britain’s number one Guy Williams

Kent based Guy Williams travelled out to France last week to compete in the 3* International Show, Lons Le Saunier. Guy was also accompanied by fellow team mates Peter Charles and Laura Renwick.
It was the Grand Prix that took place yesterday (Sunday) which saw Guy Williams come out on top. Guy partnered Lindsay Doran’s eight year old grey gelding Depardieu Vant Kiezelhof who jumped a double clear in a jump off time of 41.41 seconds, nearly one second faster than second placed S.Wettstein from Switzerland.
Guy was one of only three riders who managed to jump a double clear round the testing 1.50m course. Also tackling this course for Great Britain was Peter Charles from Hampshire and Essex based Laura Renwick. Peter Charles partnered Olga White and Tara Charles Murka’s Vindicat W who although managed to not touch a pole were slightly off the time in the first round incurring one time fault leaving them in eighth position. Laura Renwick rode Roller Coaster III a horse her husband John jointly owns with Marian Renwick. An unfortunate lowing of a pole in the first round meant Laura finished in ninth position.
