British Riders competing in Zurich, Wellington and Sharjah secured International placings for Great Britain. Details for which are below:
FEI 5*- Zurich
Laura Renwick, produced one of the only six clears in the Rolex Grand Prix, Zurich on Friday with David Perry’s 11-year-old gelding Oz de Breve. Putting in an incredibly fast time of 36.44 seconds they unfortunately incurred 8 penalties which saw them finish in 5th place. The class was taken by Germany’s Marcus Ehning with Noltes Kuchengirl with his double clear, one of only two achieved, in a time of 37.35 seconds.

Laura, who is based in Essex also appeared in the line-up in a number of other International classes with her husbands (John) 8 year old Chestnut mare Reine du May. Robert Smith with his own 13-year-old grey gelding Balourado took 1st place in the 1.35m Knock Out just above Daniel Etter for Switzerland, a class which saw Laura and Reine du May in 3rd place. Robert and Balourado also took 7th place in the opening Speed competition on Friday.
FEI 3* - Wellington, USA
Ben Maher MBE took 9th place in the Surpass 1.60m Grand Prix with Jane Clark’s 15-year-old grey gelding Vicomte D. The competition was across a testing track which took its toll across the field with only four competitors managing to get through the first round without incurring any penalties. Ben and Vicomte D incurred 4 penalties in the first round but their time was solid enough to ensure their place in the line up.

Tim Gredley who is now based in the USA took 10th place in the 1.50m Ruby et Violette class with Unex Damora Z, a 9 year old bay mare. Jumping clear in the first round they incurred an unfortunate 4 faults in the jump off.
FEI 2* - Sharjah II (UAE)
Yazmin Pinchen with Van de Vivaldi, the 10 year old chestnut stallion owned by her mother (Nancy) continued her run of success in Sharjah. This time a clear round in yesterday’s Grand Prix saw Yazmin secure her place in the jump off. However 4 penalties saw her slip into 6th place after securing a solid time of 39.79 seconds, just one second behind the overall winner who was Nasser Shabab Al Bagemi for Saudi Arabia.
