INGLISTON ATTRACT THE CROWDS
Monday 07 December 2009
This weekend saw some of Britain’s top riders assemble in Scotland for the Senior Premier show held at the prestigious Ingliston Equestrian Centre.
Ingliston Equestrian Centre has recently been given a new look, what was once a stud has now been transformed into a magnificent Country Club and Equestrian Centre, which caters not only for the equine enthusiast but also provides a great day out for the general public with a number of lavish restaurants to choose from.
“What a fantastic venue,” said a competitor, “the facilities here are out of this world, they have catered for everyone, this is a venue I would be proud to bring my owners too”.
Sunday saw British Showjumping’s Winter Grade A & B Premier Grand Prix take place with many top names competing for the top spot. The top twenty will qualify for The British Open based on points awarded throughout the series.
The competition saw Guy Williams from Canterbury, Kent with his own thirteen year old bay gelding, Torinto Van de Middlestede, take first place with two clear rounds in a fast jump off time of 39.64 seconds. Paul Barker and Temple Studs’s Temple Ryefield finished second with a double clear in a time of 41.36 seconds. Third place went to Geoff Billington with Patricia Fraser’s Uppercut II with a double clear in a time of 42.85 seconds.
